![]() Derek and Natasha Marshall Architect Derek Marshall was so impressed with his first Dan-Wood house that he became an agent for the company. He and wife Natasha built the first Dan-Wood house in the UK in 2004 and were bowled over by the quality of materials and workmanship. “There was one big difference between building the Dan-Wood house and my previous self-build houses – this time I didn’t have to organise contractors and tradesmen to build it," Derek said.
The wall timbers were over 7" thick, compared to the standard 4" in the UK, and the heat and sound insulation were excellent, Derek said. He and his wife Natasha made a healthy 40% return on their £120,000 build costs and went on to build a second, bigger Dan-Wood house.

Architect Derek Marshall was so impressed with his first Dan-Wood house that he became an agent for the company.
"Dan-Wood does everything from start to finish and I had a Polish project manager who kept me informed of progress every day. The standard of craftsmanship was excellent – unlike anything I’ve seen in the UK – and everyone was very polite and always on time. Dan-Wood had given me a timescale for completion of 10 weeks, but the house was ready to move into within six!”
